Entry-Level Civil Engineer

JOB LOCATION: Wailuku, Maui

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated entry-level civil engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering design, land development, and construction support while working under the guidance of experienced engineers.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of senior engineers, the Entry-Level Civil Engineer will assist with a variety of engineering and surveying tasks, including:

    •Assisting in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, schedules,reports, and opinions of construction cost
    •Preparing topographic, boundary, and subdivision maps
    •Assisting with preliminary engineering reports, including grading, drainage, utilitysystem analysis, and cost estimates
    •Supporting the design of streets, subdivisions, and site improvements for commercial, industrial, and residential projects
    •Assisting with drainage reports, including basic hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
    •Reviewing construction submittals and manufacturer data under supervision
    •Assisting with coordination with clients, agencies, and other consultants
    •Supporting construction observation and project administration activities
    •Assisting with surveying tasks, including field surveys, research, computations, and preparation of maps and descriptions
    •Assisting with document production and supporting engineering technicians as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

    •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
    •Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability/desire to obtain EIT and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
    •Familiarity with AutoCAD and standard civil engineering design and computation software
    •Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
    •Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    •Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly
    •Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff
